Born and raised in York, Kim’s mother encouraged creative expression in both her daughter and her musician brother, inspiring Kim’s pursuit of a career in creative make-up from an early age. After completing intensive studies in the UK, Kim started her professional career in film, sewing the seeds for her longstanding passion for international travel.
Relocating to London in the mid-nineties, Kim began her editorial career by collaborating with a West London-based collective of artists, writers, filmmakers and – most importantly – designers, stylists and photographers, many of whom are now established names in art and fashion.
Her signature “no make-up” make-up style, drawing on a love of strong colour, and relaxed approach was quickly in demand, and Kim’s work has subsequently appeared in a Who’s Who of credible publications around the globe, such as Vogue (UK; US; Russia; India), i-D, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Dazed & Confused and Pop.
With her gift for bringing out the natural beauty in people, she has collaborated with many acclaimed designers, including Preen and Jonathan Saunders, and lent her in-demand artistry to A-list celebrities such as Cate Blanchett, Rosamund Pike and Yasmin Le Bon. She has also worked with legends of photography David Bailey, Peter Lindbergh and many more. Kim is currently the Beauty Director of high-end quarterly fashion and style magazine Glass.
